Dr. Syed Raza MD

VASCULAR & INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY

Dr. Raza is a fellowship trained interventional radiologist who is certified by the American Board of Radiology, as well as the Royal College of Radiologists in the United Kingdom. In the past, he has served on the faculty at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston as an assistant professor and Chief of Interventional Radiology, where he taught residents and fellows the skills of minimally invasive procedures under imaging guidance.

After more than 15 years of practicing interventional radiology, Dr. Raza has gained extensive experience in treating vascular conditions and performing minimally invasive treatments such as Uterine Fibroid Embolization. He is also highly experienced in the treatment of occluded dialysis grafts or fistulas and venous access procedures.

During his academic career, Dr. Raza authored several papers in interventional radiology that have been published in the most respected peer review journals of Radiology in America. His pioneering work in modified percutaneous approach to TIPPS and transtracheal stenting of airways received particular attention from his medical colleagues and have been subsequently quoted in several papers in the field of interventional radiology.

In 2006, Dr. Raza moved to the Memorial Hermann Memorial City hospital in Houston, Texas and worked as Chief of Interventional Radiology for several years. Dr. Raza is a member of Radiological Society of North America and the Society of Interventional Radiology.

Dr. Raza is the founder of Premier Vein & Vascular Center in Houston, where he provides consultation and treatment services to his patients. He has established his practice to provide minimally invasive treatments in a state of the art, office based procedure suite.

Dr. Matthew Anderson, MD

VASCULAR & INTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY

Matthew Anderson, M.D., attained a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin and earned his medical degree at UT Southwestern. He completed radiology residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston and received advanced training in vascular and interventional radiology through a fellowship program at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock.

Dr. Anderson joins the Premier Vein and Vascular Center group following 12 years as faculty in Radiology at UT Southwestern Medical Center where he was the director of the Vascular & Interventional Radiology Fellowship Program and the Integrated Interventional Radiology Residency Program. At UT Southwestern he provided clinical vascular and interventional radiology services at University Hospital and Parkland Memorial Hospital. During his tenure there he trained faculty and residents in the use of intravascular ultrasound for the placement of transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunts and promoted a technique for placing percutaneous gastrostomy tubes which spare patients from the discomfort associated with placement of a nasogastric tube for air insufflation.

Dr. Anderson’s interests are in locoregional oncologic interventions which has led to co-authoring a book chapter on the use of drug eluting beads for the targeted delivery of chemotherapy to hepatic tumors. He is involved in the treatment of dialysis access (AV fistulas and grafts), uterine fibroid embolization procedures, as well as treating circulatory problems of the lower extremities.

Dr. Anderson is an active member in the Society of Interventional Radiology and the American Roentgen Ray Society. He joins Dr. Raza at Premier Vein and Vascular Center to provide minimally invasive procedures to the Houston community in an office based setting.
