Surgical Treatment Options
If it’s determined you have moderate or severe fibroids, a surgical treatment option may be the best course of action. These treatment options include:
- Endometrial ablation
- Myomectomy
- Hysterectomy
Endometrial ablation is a procedure that involves destroying the lining of the uterus with a small heated balloon or with a tool that utilizes microwave energy. Pregnancy is unlikely after this procedure. Myomectomy involves using a small tool that will cut or electrocute, and thereby destroy, the tumors. Studies show that this method is effective in 80-90% of women who experience fibroid-related symptoms. A hysterectomy involves the removal of the uterus completely or partially and is the only guaranteed method of eliminating future recurrences of fibroids. We can determine if any of these procedures is right for you or offer up noninvasive solutions that can give you the same results. Quality fibroid treatments are our specialty, and we’ll ensure you feel at ease during your time with us.
Noninvasive Treatment Solutions
There are many noninvasive treatment options when it comes to uterine fibroids. We offer effective anti-inflammatories and medications that can control your hormone levels and relieve the discomfort associated with fibroid growth. We also offer minimally invasive uterine fibroid embolization (UFE) treatments that can cut the blood supply to the fibroids on your uterus, causing them to shrink and die. At Fibroid Care, we specialize in uterine fibroid solutions that will ease your discomfort and restore your quality of life. No matter how severe your fibroids are, we’ll work to see your full recovery.
Effective Fibroid Recovery
The amount of time for recovery from our fibroid treatments varies depending on what procedure you received and how invasive the process was. For surgical procedures, you can expect to spend at least one night in the hospital, and if receiving a hysterectomy, this may be stretched to more than a night depending on your body’s ability to heal. Noninvasive solutions like UFE are outpatient procedures and you can expect to return home the same day. We recommend, with all procedures, to limit your physical and sexual activities for at least a few days to avoid pelvic or post-operative pain. We’re happy to prescribe anti-inflammatories and painkillers as needed during this time. Our staff is available to answer your questions, and we’ll want to schedule you for a follow-up visit to ensure you’re not experiencing any further pain or complications. At Fibroid Care, we care about your well-being and we’ll ensure you’re satisfied with our service.
